1st Ramsden & Downham Scout Group (1st R&D) will be the “controller” of personal data relating to you, provided to 1st R&D by yourself.

Why we need your personal data and what we do with it
1st R&D processes your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests in order to communicate with you about joining and any job application you submit to 1st R&D. Without this information then 1st R&D may not be able to fully assess your application and provide a fair selection process. As part of the acceptance process your personal data will be used to comply with legal requirements such as assessing required adjustments for disabled applicants. 1st R&D will not collect any personal data that is not needed in order to process your application.
1st R&D will not pass on any personal data to any third parties. Your personal data will be held by 1st R&D on a third-party system, in the European Union.
How we collect your data
1st R&D collects data about you in a variety of ways including the information you provide in joining form.
The categories of Personal Data we collect
The information 1st R&D collects will include your scout’s name, address, date of birth, as well as emergency contacts name, address, email address, phone numbers, relationship to the scout, whether or not your scout has a disability.
We may also collect special categories of personal data relating to your race and ethnic origin for the purposes of complying with 1st R&D’s legal obligations for equal opportunities.
How long will we keep it?
If your child decides not to join our group and you have not provided consent for 1st R&D to keep your personal data, 1st R&D will keep your information for a maximum of 6 months.
Your rights in relation to your personal information
You have the right to ask to see the personal data which 1st R&D holds about you. If you want to see the information 1st R&D holds about you then you must ask for the information in writing and give your full name and address. You should send your request to:

1st R&D will ensure that requests are responded to within 30 days of receipt unless there is a reason for delay that is justifiable under data protection laws.
1st R&D wants to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date & will request you check & update the portal which holds this information. You may ask 1st R&D to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
Under data protection legislation, you also have a right to erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and the right to data portability, as set out in the General Data Protection Regulation.
Should you be unhappy with 1st R&D’s processing of your personal data, you have a right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the regulator for data protection.
